DETAILED VIDEO (WALK AROUND AND MOTOR RUNNING).......
VIDEO VIDEO, 75 photos.
WHO'S BIKE IS IT?
This is my bike, I've had this bike for 15 years since 1995 (The first owner loved this bike
as much as I have, he passed away from a heart attack.) This is a private seller, not a
dealer, I don't sell motorcycles for a living. My "watch" is over, it's time for a new
guardian for this unique bike.
WHAT IS IT?
First, it is not "Dyna" the ebay listing lumped the two together. DYNA'S (FXD) has been
produced since 1991.
This is a real 1990 LOW RIDER FXR (FXR and FXRS sport). Allen Girder in the book, The
American Motorcyle, says........."THE BEST BIKE HARLEY'S EVER MADE, because it's a rider's
bike, an evolved, functional contemporary machine"
Harley Davidson FXR was produced in various models from 1982-1994 and again from 1999-2000.
They have a unique following amoung Harley riders.
The factory lowered the suspension and stiffened it to keep the parts off the pavement,
lowered the height position of the seat and controls and created the LOW RIDER ......a
lighter model with it's own frame that is 5 times stiff in torsion than the old FX frame.
It's a low profile bike with solo seat look that give it more of a cafe racer, look more than
the XLCH ever did.
WHAT'S BEEN DONE ??
No idea how to do this.....some people put a list of tons parts that were added or replaced.
Some folks just begin rattling off, one thing after another into a paragraph that few can
understand. I decided instead to take a detailed video and 75 detailed photos of the bike. I
figured, it's easier to see and hear, what you are bidding on.
The original owner before me bought the bike at Danbury Harley in New York and kept trying to
be faster than his friends Kawasaki Z1000. He had deep pockets and did all the usual and
more. He had BRANCH O'keefe's heads ported, cams, carb, ......everything it took to beat a
Kawasaki z1000. Now that is not an easy task, it took almost of year of returning to Danbury
Harley and thousands and thousands of ($) dollars. The bike has always run very (very)
strong.
A few years ago (5 or 6) the base gaskets were leaking and I rebuilt it from the barrels up.
The bottom end and transmission are all original and have not been changed. I used the same
pistons that were fine but replaced the overhead valve assembly with needle bearing roller
rockers. I noticed that even thought the bike always had the best of oil there was some
wear. I also switched the oil to Mobil 1 (synthedic). I have used it for 10 years in my air
cooled vintage Porsche with no wear, and it worked perfect on the Harley.
WHY YOU SELLING IT ???
It's just time. I find that I have not been riding it much anymore. I have included a photo
of the 2002 inspection sticker, it shows miles in the 13000 range. It now has 16000. I've put
about 3000 miles in 8 years. That's less than nothing. I'm not letting it leave the USA. I'm
not selling it overseas, or to Canada. I want find a good home for it.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT ???
Aside from needing a new home. It's never been dropped but, my daughter went to push it out
of the way so she could drive away and it was too much for her, she gently let it down on the
foot peg. I was "upset".
Harley has a stupid gasket between the two cylinders that mounts the intake manifold. After a
few years it tends to shrink and when you start it very cold it pops for few secs. until it
expands. I've been meaning to replace it.
And, now it leaves a couple of drops of oil when I park it, not sure where, never did it
before, have not looked closely.
I bought some kind of sealed EXTREME battery a couple of years ago that seems to last
forever, always cranks and fires.
It's not perfect, look at all the photos and videos, but it's a nice unique motorcycle.
WHAT AM I BUYING?
Me, I'm buying nothing just selling my bike........you, are bidding on a 1990 bike. No extra
helmets, no extra jackets, no covers, no alarms, no free flatware, or glassware, only a
motorcycle.

WHAT IS a Low Rider (I'm sure I don't need to do this)?

SHORT STORY. --The original owner before me (had the bike for 5 years) bought the bike at Danbury Harley in New York and kept upgrading the bike. He had BRANCH O'keefe's heads ported, cams, carb, progressive shocks and springs, eagle parts overhead valve assembly with needle bearing roller rockers ...............tons of chrome parts
The bottom end and transmission are all original and have not been touched.
WHY are YOU SELLING IT ???
I find that I have not been riding it much anymore. I have included a photo of the 2002 inspection sticker, it shows miles in the 13000 range. It now has about 16000. I've put about 3000 miles in 8 years. That's less than nothing.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT ???
Nothing.......
It's not perfect, look at all the photos and videos, but it's a nice unique motorcycle.
WHAT ARE YOU BUYING?
Me, I'm buying nothing just selling my bike........you, are bidding on a 1990 bike. No extra helmets, no free extra jackets, no covers, no alarms, no battery chargers, no free flatware, or glassware, or towels, only a motorcycle.
FINAL WORDS..............
I know I'll regret selling it. You own something long enough and you don't really see it anymore. The bike looks as good as the photos. Nothing to hide, no excuses, nothing....I have a clean title from NY, no liens.
Please bid on this bike if you are sincere about buying it. If you live outside the area you need to have someone look at the bike. It just makes good sense when buying something sight unseen . Have someone take a very close look at it.

I GIVE BACK - Overall, in life we have been "lucky" Maybe you can't change your luck but as Paul Newman (creator of the Hole in the Wall Camps) has said....."maybe it is possible to mess with luck, slow it down, hassle it, and maybe overtake it"..
Some kids have not been so lucky, their luck has been simply brutal..... they fight with life-treatening diseases, cancer, blood conditions, tumors.......... we try to lighen the load by donating a percentage to the " The Hole in the Wall Gang" a sancturary where kids can participate in a host of activities..........
Fourteen Years ago,......30 percent of the childrens who attended the first camps would survive. Today that number has reversed: Seventy percent of the campers now overcome cancer, thanks to medical advances.......................you can mess with luck !

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Shipping Your New Automobile: How much ($) and low long does it cost to ship?
Generally $500 to $1800 (east of the Mississippi river) and $1000 to $3000 west of the Mississippi)
Lots of variables all come into play (distance, weather, load timing and other variables). Also depends if you arrange for "ASAP" or less urgent. One to two weeks is the most common shipping times (sometimes as little as two - three days, others longer).
What can go wrong?
Today, 75% of cars sold on ebay (of this type) in nation listings are shipped out of state (quoted from ebay statistics). Shippers have this down to a science, like shipping milk to a grocery store. Pick a shipper that is reputable and is insured for damage in transit. They mark down any little mark on the vehicle before it ships, and we have to sign and agree to it. At the other end, the vehicle cannot have any marks, chips, dents, scratches not already noted (or it is the shipper responsibility).
