Lorenzo Lamas To Lead ‘Ride To The Dunes’”

Thu, 30 May 2013

The second annual ‘Ride to the Dunes’ charity ride for child abuse awareness kicks off Sunday, June 2 2013, with Grand Marshal Lorenzo Lamas leading the way. The ride will start at Bartels’ Harley-Davidson in Marina Del Rey, California and end at Sycamore Cove State Beach in Malibu, where guests will be treated to lunch and a concert by Alchemy. Riders of all makes and models are welcome to join.

Every day 4.8 children die at the hands of their caretakers, and more than 3 million cases of child abuse are reported nationwide each year. Organizations like BACA, The Children’s Wall of Tears, WACA and CASA lobby to assist children who are in danger from their abusers and to bring a greater public awareness to help make a difference in a child’s life. ‘Ride to the Dunes’ aims to bring awareness, support and funding to these organizations.

“As parents and everyday citizens, we owe it to ourselves to support kids however we can. The organizations we are recognizing at this event are some of many legitimate organizations seeking to raise awareness of child abuse and I call on every rider in Southern California to come out and ride to support the cause,” says Lamas.

Registration for Ride to the Dunes opens at 8:30am on Sunday, June 2, with wheels up at 10am. For more information, visit www.ridetothedunes.org.
