1980 Yamaha TZ125 Road Racer Complete with Factory Spares Kit This pristine example has never been run or raced and is a NOS bike. The bike has been part of a private collection and has been stored in a climate controlled environment its entire life. The bike comes with unmounted fairing, stand and a crate of factory spares. The factory spares kit itself is impressive. 15 - cylinder gaskets 15 - piston rings 10 - side case gaskets 2 manifolds 14 - main jets (different sizes) 105 - various o-rings, seals & gaskets 10 - clutch friction plates 3 - countershaft sprockets 25 - circlips 6 - rear wheel sprockets seat cushion crank assy 2 - cylinders cylinder head 5 - pistons Misc other brake pads, throttle cable, bearings, etc. Everything in the crate is NOS. This is a racing motorcycle that has been sitting many years. It is ready for display, but if you wish to race it, the bike will require a thorough inspection of all systems and critical parts. No warranty is provided or implied - no returns. A $500, non-refundable, deposit is due at the end of the auction with the balance due, in cash, at the time of pick up. Fri, 14 May 2010Jean Philippe Ruggia, 1988, Coppice at Donington Park, Sonauto-Yamaha 250. This is elbow lean action. There was a previous blog entry of Ben Spies and his elbow grazing the tarmac onboard the M1 Yamaha, I admit it is impressive but I find myself admiring the horizontal angles that Ruggia submitted his 250 Yamaha to, with the above image taken at Coppice as a prime example.
2014 AMA Supercross – Arlington Results
Tue, 18 Feb 2014James Stewart‘s hot streak continues with his second-consecutive win and fourth AMA Supercross podium in five weeks after an impressive effort at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Fresh off of signing a contract extension with Yoshimura Suzuki, Stewart took control of the Arlington main event on the third lap, passing holeshot-taker Ryan Dungey and running away with the win. With his win last week at San Diego, Stewart becomes the first rider to win back-to-back races this season and establishes himself as a championship contender as we approach the mid-way point of the 2014 season.
Ben Spies Retires from Motorcycle Racing
Sun, 27 Oct 2013Ben Spies announced his retirement from motorcycle racing, as injuries cut short a once promising career for the American. Spies retires with a World Superbike title in his first and only season in the series, and three AMA Superbike Championships. “I want to thank everyone from racing organizations, factories, teams and all my fans for helping me and supporting me throughout my career,” says Spies.
