Yamaha Other description

Had to relist in eBay Motors thus the new listing. I have added more pics also. This is a gorgeous 1972 R5 Yamaha two stroke 350 in mandarin orange/black. It is hard to stress how complete and original this bike is. It was bought from an estate collection of motorcycles stored in a climate controlled shop. Mileage is 9983, last NC inspection in 1986 notes mileage at 9924.  I have all DMV docs supporting this as well as the original one owner title, service manual, original toolkit, original keyset. Grips, pegs, mirrors, bars, seat, gas cap all original. Tires look perfect, holding air, with no dryrot and could be original. Seat and seat pan is mint original. Forks unpitted and perfect, seals intact. One tiny underside dent on front fender, scratch on headlight housing, pitting on left header where gas leaked out (should come out with steel wool) is about all that detracts. The tank is shot, however, there was a used R5 tank with the bike and is included. No rust inside at all but needs paint/dent remedy. No battery, good kick compression, shifts up/down into gear, bike rolls smoothly, front and back brake grab. Carbs need going through, about what you'd expect from a 30 year layup. All I have done is handwashed it and put air in the tires, and pulled off the motor guard, windshield and sissy seat. I am quickly falling in love with this bike having ridden RDs. Bid now or I will restore and ride it! Local bidders come see it. I will provide pics and answer questions as needed. I will assist with loading onto your transport. Fair start price, no reserve.

Click through the pics to get to the high res photos for excellent detail on this bike!

Colin Edwards’ Gear Being Auctioned For Feed The Children

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

While Colin Edwards may no longer be a factory Yamaha racer these days, he still enjoys a close bond with the tuning fork brand. So much so that Yamaha has announced a unique opportunity to bid on a historic set of road racing leathers, boots, gloves, and helmet as worn by Edwards during this, his final season in MotoGP. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Feed the Children, which is Yamaha Motor Corporation’s official corporate charity.

Recreate Rossi’s Corkscrew Pass on Stoner at Laguna Seca with Paper

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

Valentino Rossi‘s career is full of many incredible moments but few are as indelible as the move he made to pass Casey Stoner on the 23rd lap of the 2008 U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. The controversial cut through the famous Corkscrew was arguably the most dramatic moment of the 2008 MotoGP season (and ironically, recreated this year, with Marc Marquez turning the tables on Rossi).
