Recall for 2011 Victory Cross Country

Polaris Industries has initiated a recall campaign for the 2011 Victory Cross Country due to a defect in the handlebar riser and clamp assembly. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, some handlebar clamps and risers may have been machined to deep by the part supplier. As a result, the handlebars may slip within the clamps, potentially causing a rider to lose control.

Defending champion Ryan Villopoto won his third consecutive AMA Supercross race in Arlington, Texas, but the victory was overshadowed by a season-ending injury suffered by one of his main challengers Chad Reed. TwoTwo Motorsport Honda‘s Reed trailed Villopoto in second place for the first six laps at Cowboys Stadium. Disaster struck on Lap 7 however as Reed crashed hard in the whoops.

Now, let’s take a closer look at just how far e-bike technology has progressed since Brammo — and Lightning — last raced at Sonoma Raceway, exactly one year ago.   At the AFM races this year, Team Icon Brammo riders Steve Atlas and Eric Bostrom raced their Empulse RR machines against 600cc and 750cc Inline-Fours, and even a few liter-class V-Twins.
