The heart of the Street Triple is the throbbing 675 cc triple, delivering 106 PS and 68 Nm of torque. It’s so good you’ll have trouble believing its only 675 cc. The torque and sound of the liquid-cooled 12-valve triple, combined with a close ratio 6-speed gearbox produce an exciting ride, and the under-engine silencer helps lower the center gravity and improve handling. Unchained: 2013 Triumph Rocket III Free of Power Restrictions
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Triumph has updated its Rocket III cruiser for 2013, adding more blacked-out components and a new seat, but perhaps the most significant change is what Triumph took away: the electronic torque limiter. Previous versions of the Triumph Rocket III and the Rocket III Touring variant had its power and torque neutered in the first three gears. The reins are off for 2013 however, with the Rocket III’s 2294cc engine delivering full power in all gears.
2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander, Thunderbird LT Models Outted in CARB Documents
Tue, 15 Oct 2013An executive order released by the California Air Resources Board reveals two new additions to the Triumph Thunderbird cruiser lineup. Joining the base Thunderbird and the Thunderbird Storm (both of which have already received CARB certification for 2014) are two new versions, the Thunderbird LT and the Thunderbird Commander. According to the executive order, both new T-birds will be powered by a 1700cc engine designated as the ETDXC1.70KMM, the same engine family designation assigned to the parallel-twin engine powering the Thunderbird Storm.
