Its full-blooded and responsive 865 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine delivers throaty acceleration, amplified by the mellow backbeat from its twin peashooter exhaust pipes. The T100s chassis delivers secure road-holding, effortless steering and easy-going manners, as youd expect of a motorcycle drawn from Bonneville stock. Likewise the powerful twin-piston calipers, operating on front and rear discs ensure excellent stopping ability. The T100s coachlines gold for the Opal White and silver for the Tornado Red are hand applied, with each craftsman initialing the underside of a completed tank. Sat, 06 Apr 2013Back in the 60s, American Honda tested the durability of its motorcycles by sending a CL72 Scrambler on a 950-mile trek through rocks, sand washes, dry lake beds, mountain passes and paved roads. Fifty years later, that legendary run is remembered for inspiring one of the most significant off-road races in the world—the Baja 1000. In celebration, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition called Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory.
Triumph to celebrate 20th anniversary
Mon, 22 Mar 2010TRIUMPH is celebrating its 20th anniversary since the relaunch of the brand, which takes place on Saturday September 18th at the Mallory Park race circuit in Leicestershire.A full programme of on and off track activities will be laid on, with on track activities including a round of the ‘Triumph Triple Challenge’, special invitation races featuring Triumph’s class-leading Street Triple and Daytona 675 motorcycles, plus shows from Triumph’s professional stunt riders. Off-track, visitors will be able to view the latest range of Triumph motorcycles, together with a selection of some of the UK’s best customised Triumphs. Key bikes from Triumph’s history will also be on display, as part of a unique exhibition exploring 20 years of Hinckley. On top of this, there will be a host of opportunities for visitors to ride the latest line up of bikes from Triumph’s demonstration fleet, both on and off track, along with many other riding activities for visitors to enjoy. Triumph’s factory, situated eight miles from Mallory Park, will be open for event visitors to take a tour of the facility. The company has also promised a few exclusive surprises for fans making the trip to this special event and the party will carry on late into the night, with a full programme of live music planned.
Triumph 250cc Twin Due for India and Indonesia in 2014
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Triumph will produce a 250cc twin-cylinder naked bike for the Asian market in 2014, according to the director of the brand’s Indonesian distributor. Rudhy Siswanto, president director of PT Global Motorcycle Trading, says the new small-displacement Triumph will be produced at the company’s new factory in Narasapur, India, outside of Bangalore which is set to begin operation in 2014. “The factory in India is focused on small engines.
