Triumph Bonneville description

I have up for bid a 1967 Triumph Bonneville 650cc motorcycle.  This '67 bike is not a restored barn find, rather it is a well maintained, annually ridden bike.  As you can see, it has a premium black paint job.  The bike has electronic ignition, the frame and engine numbers match.  It has its original monobloc Amal twin carbs.  It runs and shifts as it should.  Usually starts on first or second kick.  All lights work, as well as the guages.

As you can see in the one picture on the right side of the tank, the tank emblem has a small amount of road rash on the top.  It was done before the tank was painted and the tank does not reflect any road rash damage.  There are the usual very small dings, a very small stone chip on one side cover (about the size of a pencil lead), a few minor scratches and the like, but nothing that detracts from the bike.  The mufflers are in like new condition.  The paint job is probably 20 years old, but has a like new shine.

The tools pictured have always been with the bike and they are included.

I have a clear Ohio title in hand in my name.

A paypal payment of $500.00 is due within 2 days of end of auction and is non-refundable.  Balance is due at pickup if not being shipped.  Bike may be **picked up near Findlay, Ohio within 30 days of end of auction.

** I would also consider shipping to the UNITED STATES only, at buyer's expense.  Buyer must make all the arrangements for shipping.  I will crate it if need be at an additional expense.

If you have any questions or need additional specific pictures, please let me know.  I couldn't get a couple of pictures to load.

Watch my auctions - I will be selling a 1968 Triump Bonneville 650cc at a later time (as soon as I can get the wife to clean it up.) !!

Upcoming 2014 Triumph America Horizon Now to be Called the America LT

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Back in March, we broke the story of a new variant on the Triumph America for 2014 that had received an executive order from the California Air Resources Board. The CARB document, dated March 14, identified the new model as the Triumph America Horizon. Based on the name and Triumph’s current product offerings, we inferred the new model would be a new touring variant of the 865cc America cruiser.

Filling a void with an RD350LC

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Last winter I managed to fill a void in my life when I stumbled on a very reasonably priced Yamaha RD350LC.  It was a tad scruffy, had the wrong exhausts but most importantly it was blue and white with all numbers matching.  I had the usual euphoria when the deal was done but I underestimated how much pleasure this particular purchase would continue to deliver another eight months down the line. The difference with this old bike is, instead of just taking it for the occasional ride I was talked into doing a full nut and bolt restoration.  Having never taking a bike apart completely before, initially it was quite daunting but I soon found the RD is easy to work on so it turned into a truly satisfying experience.  I’ve had some help from LC enthusiasts with the rebuild, however, the stripping, sourcing and organising was a total labour of love.  And call me sad but it has made me bond with this bike like no other which only adds to the feel good factor.  The bike cost £1800 and I’ve spent around £1000 but I reckon my mint Elsie is now worth a fair bit more.   I fancy rejuvenating a Fizzy  next time but there’s lots of other cheap 70’s and 80’s winter projects  out there so why not have a go yourself?

Triumph Sets Sales Record but Suffers First Operating Loss Since 2009

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

Triumph sold 52,089 motorcycles from its fiscal year ended June 30, 2013, setting a new company record for annual sales. At the same time, the company announced an operating loss of £95,000 (US$155,300), the company’s time in the red since 2009. Much of the operating loss was caused by foreign currency exchanges and the cost of starting up manufacturing facilities in Brazil and India.
