Suzuki Celebrating 50 Years In USA At Indy MotoGP

August 16, 2013 will mark the start of the Indianapolis MotoGP weekend. It also marks Suzuki’s 50th anniversary in the USA, and to celebrate the company is going all-out during race weekend. Suzukiís 50th Anniversary event will take place in the Suzuki Fan Paddock at Turn 2, a prominent position trackside, and will be the largest customer display by any manufacturer at this yearís Indianapolis MotoGP race weekend.

Knee-high land-speed record device

This mad looking motorcycle is a land speed record device that never turned a wheel in anger. It was built by the infamous Dave Manning in 1968 using a discarded drop tank from a Korean fighter plane. Manning built a space-frame chassis inside the tiny teardrop and also managed to find room for a Suzuki T500 twin cylinder two-stroke motor.

Ryan Villopoto swept all three main events to win the inaugural Monster Energy Cup and take home the $1 million prize. The 2011 AMA Motocross and Supercross Champion was a favorite going into the Oct.15 Monster Energy Cup at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. Villopoto completed the hat trick by winning the Cup and the prize money.
