Suzuki DL1000 description

3rd owner. It runs great and the maintenance is current. Garage kept. 29,000 miles. Givi parts: Hard cases (top and sides), windscreen, and crash bars. It has an Adventuretech fork brace, center stand, hand guards, BPI cruise control, and handlebar risers. I will include a new chain, brake pads, and service manual.
DAMAGE: I dropped in in my driveway twice and there is a crack 3" long in the upper fairing on the right side. The left upper fairing has an odd spot where the plastic bent and didn't crack. It has never been laid down otherwise.
The center stand comes in very handy and the dash stands out also; it has a 6th gear indicator (O/D) and Fuel/Temperature gauges. The most surprising thing about it is how light and easily this 450+ pound bike handles. Great bike, ready for adventures.

Tue, 10 Apr 2012

METZELER'S Z8 Interact sports-touring tyre has been classed as the best wet weather sports-touring tyre by the German Motorrad TestCenter. The criteria considered in the wet test by Motorrad TestCenter have been: steering precision and characteristics, line holding during acceleration, ease of handling, grip at lean angle for front and rear tyres, grip during acceleration, limit range characteristics, feedback at lean angle, braking stability during full braking with ABS.

Results From Day 2 Of World Superbike Testing At Phillip Island

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

World Superbike testing at Phillip Island came to a close today, and when the dust settled, reigning champion Tom Sykes stamped his authority, setting the fastest time of the test at 1:30.239, just five thousandths shy of the outright lap record held by Carlos Checa. The time was set during the morning session of testing, though nobody was able to best Sykes for the remainder of the day. Eugene Laverty, who was fastest on day one, showed his pace was no fluke as he stayed near the top of the time sheets, ultimately finishing second behind Sykes, with a best time of 1:30.513.

Capirossi Announces Retirement at Conclusion of 2011 Season

Thu, 01 Sep 2011

Loris Capirossi announced he will retire at the end of the 2011 MotoGP season, closing off a quarter century of racing including 22 years at the Grand Prix level and three World Championships. “It’s an important moment in my career, and the decision I made has come about after a lot of reflection,” says Capriossi. “I’m happy that after 25 years, of which 22 were in the world championship, I’m at a point where I can still have a smile on my lips as I part ways, even if it’s difficult to think that I won’t be riding a bike next year.” The announcement was made during a press conference at Misano for the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix, the final Italian stop of the 2011 season.
