Other Wanderer description

1939 Fitchel/Sachs motorized bike. What you see is what you get. I bought this bike in a box, and it is put together so I could get an idea of what was there and not.....Engine, carb, frame, tank, rims, headlight bucket, front end, pedal crank assembly, handlebars, rear rack with storage box's both sides (wow, I cant believe these are there with closing tabs in tact and functional....) the bike is just loose bolted together and wire tied in pics. all sheet metal is in pretty good shape. rear rack for boxes has had some welding done and could be done better, but nothing that is not easily remedied.   Missing crank internals, axle internals, head light lens, seat, etc..... Engine turns over nicely, and has been oiled every few months. I have no reason to think this motor would not fire right up. Carb is good. Goes thru gears easily...(still has original wood tank shift knob).  This is a pre war bike and I found very little information on it. I have many other motorcycle projects going, and frankly, I have it as a piece of motorcycle art on display right now... But seems a shame if someone else has another parts bike, they could be mated to be one again????  Comes with bill of sale only!!! I can only think that there are not many of these bikes around as the war broke out and scrap metal was in high demand regardless of which side of the pond you hailed from, and production of civilian bikes was virtually non existant during WW2. Anyways I hope there is someone out there who can use this Thanks Bob
