Up for sale is a Rare 1971 Maico 501 Square barrel wide ratio transmission motorcycle. No title, off road use only. Frame # 501265. Engine #S501282. (I believe only 600 made) The bike does not run. It has been sitting since the 1980's. Motor turns over with lots of compression. Front and rear brakes work. Transmission shifts through the gears. Looks to be complete. Unfortunately the previous owner was a machinist... so to save on weight.. sadly drilled holes in most everything he could save weight on.. cylinder head, cylinder, etc etc. see all pictures. A nice job tho. The bikes looks to have been raced. Has a fiberglass tank (solid). Aluminum front wheel. Steel rear. The pipe has some dings. Right top cylinder head fin is broken, Appears to be no damage to the cases. Overall expect a previously raced motorcycle wear and tear. Please see all pictures before bidding.
