1977 Other Makes Maico 250 on 2040-motos

                                                                                      1977 Maico AW 250 MC250 Motocross

You are bidding on my 1977 Maico 250.  Bone stock except the tank is a sand piper plastic tank.  I have found correct used tanks online for about 250-300 bucks if you want to replace this tank.  The bike has the original Maico forks and this is an original frame and motor.  Good running bike.  Starts right up, rides and runs good. Nice and crisp power.   A former Maico factory mechanic just tuned this bike up to correct specs so it runs real good.  It shifts, brakes, turns and is a good bike.  Has the original Bing carb as well.  Yes, it should probably have new swing arm bushings and I would also replace the fork seals if you are planning on riding the bike for sure, as I do not know when they were last replaced.  I posted a you tube video of my friend starting it up 2 days ago so you can see it run.  go to you tube and search for "1977 Maico 250 start up".  I feel for $1500 bucks, you are getting a true piece of Motocross history here for not alot of money.

This was a good year for Maico.  Lots of great history with this bike being ridden here in Michigan most of its' life.  Not raced alot but ridden in the woods.  The bike shifts and brakes great too.  Thanks so much!!

Well, I guess I am amazed that no serious buyers care about this bike.  A 1977 Maico for 760 bucks?   I don't think so.   So,  I will watch it, but if it does not hit my reserve soon,  I will keep it.  I will end the auction early and sell it locally on Craigs list OR keep the bike in my expansive collection.   DO NOT, ask me to buy it after the sale cause the answer will be NO.  You had your chance.
