Other Laverda description

This late production example of the Laverda 750 SF3 is one of 1,026 produced (and the only known example in use on North American roads). Exhibiting the later frame marking SF3 (the early 3s used the SF2 markings) and striping similar to the 1000 here is a rare opportunity to acquire a low production model machine with the manners to use every day. The charismatic 750’s  lineage comes directly from the soul of the legendary SFC.

This exquisite machine has the reliability for modern commuting or touring with enough sporting character to carve up the canyon roads. An unrestored example featuring a complete ownership history from new it wears the patina of its age and includes various service modifications of past owners. It is an Italian market machine, imported by a US Army officer, with a clear Florida title.

I have ridden this particular machine. In fact, I recently spent a day doing nothing more than wringing it out throughout the back roads of the Texas Hill Country including a 5 mile blast down the interstate at 5,000 rpm (indicated 140kmh). It didn’t miss a lick and felt like it could do this all day every day. No surprise as these bikes were advertised as “built to stay built”. I am impressed with the smoothness and agility this particular example. I must agree with an assessment of my German shop owner friend; The SF3 is the best, all around, riding version of the 750’s.

I’ve owned or ridden every 750 model from the Breganze days. I’d jump on this for a trip to the races at Barber or Toole, in a heartbeat, without any doubt I’d get there and back with nothing more than feeding it gasoline.

So, right about now, you must wonder why in the world it’s for sale. Heart wrenching, really. It belongs to my son.  A father of two, with one on the way, he is recently separated and can use the cash.  No BS. call him, (five 0 five) four 6 three thirtyone 01). The timing sucks, for me, as I’m newly divorced and can’t cash flow fair market value without selling one of my other Laverda (that’s not gonna happen). Someone is going to get lucky. I hope it goes to a rider. There are less than a handful of SF3 in the Americas. Other than Nate’s restoration project the rest are in collections.

This machine is advertised elsewhere and subject to prior sale unless reserve price is met. Please note listed mileage is kilometers.

Cash, cashier’s check, bank draft only. Funds must clear prior to release of bike and docs. Payment in full within 7 business days. Shipping is F.O.B. Comfort, Texas 78013. You are welcome to collect in person. If you are inclined to fly in and ride home use San Antonio Int’l Airport. Short term storage is not an issue.

Feel free to ask any questions about this machine or request additional images for viewing. My mobile is 2onezero five1nine eight99two CST. It is not unusual for me to be in a poor signal strength area so text a call back number. Don’t bother with a VM.
