Brief History of the Make:

Ernst Heinkel was one of the great aircraft designers, during WWII responsible for some of the best
German fighters and bombers.

In 1949 he designed his first scooter, but production did not start until 1954 when the Tourist
appeared, an advanced design with electric start, 4-speed gearbox and 12 volt electrics.

Heinkel manufactured the 'Tourist' in five series: the 101 A0 (1953–1954), the 102 A1 (1954–1955), the
103 A0 (1955–1957), the 103 A1 (1957–1960) and the 103 A2 (1960–1965).
The story goes that the four-stroke engine was designed during the Second World War and was meant
to propel little tractors on airfields to supply bomber planes with their load.

Some more information about the 'Tourist' can be found here;

The high quality Heinkel Tourist was considered to be the 'Rolls-Royce' of scooters back in the days, where today this
57 year old scooter is still in a fairly decent and nice running condition.
The odometer-reading is 23795km/14816 mile, only have no history with it that shows that this is correct, though
judging by the condition of the whole machine this could well be the case.
The paint is old and clearly showing age by having dings, -scratches and -markings etc, where also on the rest of
the scooter is showing traces of age and use.

This machine has been part of an antique motorcycle collection for many decades and has not been used over that period, though after arrival here about a week ago, we have re-charged the batteries* (*will put new ones in at my expense before it leaves from here) and renewed the oil, from where the 175cc four-stroke engine fired instantly and is running ever so nice. The Heinkel Tourist has an electric starter, so starting it is ever so easy.

Something nice to know is that the parts-position for these Heinkel scooters is very strong, as there are several online parts-specialists, but also when becoming member of the Heinkel club http://www.heinkel-club.de/t3/en/m-l/home1.html you will have access to online advise of specialists, parts (they have everything for this model available against moderate prices and are shipping worldwide) and information.

This scooter comes with an official European Certificate of Origin, which document will be issued in your name and states the make, model, year of manufacture, displacement, weight etc, plus an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I’ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride.

-On this listing I’m offering a special (fully sealed) crate, careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US CFS as close as possible to you at my expense, meaning that I will pay for having the bike crated and all handling etc. plus the ocean-freight charge, where you are responsible for all charges at your (US) end, like entry fees, port, handling and eventually broker fees etc.
If you want any additional information about this, please ask before you place a bid.

Furthermore, when you want to receive some better photo's of the scooter/shipping, or want to recieve more information about this item, just let me know.

I accept PayPal payments.
