1978 Other Makes Cz 125cc Mx on 2040-motos

 1978 CZ 125 Type 511. This very original, extremely low hour bike is truly a step back in time. The "agricultural" beauty of any CZ is undeniable and this example leaves no disappointments.

The original tires show very little wear, the plastic, grips and controls are all original, the seat is very nice, the tank has some scrapes, and a small ding but no significant dents, the paint is peeling around the filler hole, but some touch up and good polishing would take care of that.

When I got the bike, in addition to needing a good bath, it was missing the carburetor and throttle cable, as well as the original Works Performance or CZ Air shocks. I was able to source a NOS carburetor, both the intake and air box rubber boots, and throttle cable, the air filter is new, as are the Progressive gas shocks.

Not to detract from the original patina, no paint work was done, I did replace dozens of rusty fasteners and hardware with new, but did save the original hardware, all of which will certainly go with the bike.

There are some scrapes, bruises, and rust, but overall the bike really looks great just as it is, and with more selective detailing one could only enhance it's very distinctive look and unusual character.

The bike starts runs and rides as expected. I have to many projects going on right now and would prefer to move this one along for the next owner to enjoy.

Apologies include scraped plastic (easily could be sanded and polished out), some small cracks predominantly at mounting holes (hard to see if you're not looking for them), rusty spokes, a missing gas cap seal, and fuel valve gasket, the fork seals leak a new pair are included, and there is some very light pitting on the fork tubes, a couple of small spots high in the stroke, easily can be buffed or sanded out.

This bike would make a nice addition to any CZ or Vintage Dirt Bike collection, or a fun little rider / racer, whether fully restored or enjoyed as it is.

NOTE: There is no title or registration with this 38 year old closed course off road racing motorcycle.
