Other 250 SGS description

Beautifully restored Puch/Allstate 250 SGS motorcycle. Two-stroke oil-injected split single engine, commonly referred to as the "twingle" engine. Motorcycle was completely taken apart and received nut and bolt restoration from previous owner. All chrome was replated to a high quality standard, repainted in an original Puch red color. Engine was rebuilt, all wiring redone. Wheels respoked & trued, tires replaced. The bike started life as an Allstate, which if you are not familiar with these, was a Puch unit that was rebadged and sold through Sears. The restoration was completed by the previous owner, I bought it to add to my collection. As a matter of personal preference, I replaced the Allstate tank side panels with Puch-badged units purchased from Austria. I also have the Euro-style small tail light & rubber base, which is painted to match the bike. It is included in the sale but has not been installed yet. The trim cover on the front wheel hub is also included, in perfect condition as is the rest of the bike. During the restoration, the previous owner wired the motorcycle for turn signals (it was not originally equipped with them). The handlebar switch is not correct for the bike, it was added to make the turn signals function. I planned to remove the turn signals, as I am a purist and wanted a more original look. I also replaced the primary chain, as the original one was re-used during the rebuild and it had more slack in it that I cared for. There are some additional new parts included for the bike. There is no battery included. The bike was last run about 3 years ago. I've only put a few local miles on it since my ownership, just riding around the neighborhood basically. It was properly drained out and stored dry in a climate controlled environment. I am in the process of moving and am not going to have time to get the bike up and running. It shouldn't need anything to run other than fresh fluids and a battery. The rubber tank panel that's missing on the right side is included in the sale, I just never got around to getting it on after replacing the tank panels. Couple small paint chips that need touching up, tried to show in pics. Small amount of extra paint is included. Front fender and the tank right around the side panel. Vinyl on seat has some cracking, don't really notice it unless you stretch the material. Does not detract from the appearance and you have to look closely to see it. There are a couple small details that could use some attention to make the bike perfect but overall it's a beautiful classic bike that has always received compliments. I kept it polished and waxed so it always looked perfect. I hate to part with it but I'm moving and don't have as much room at the new location and need to downsize a bit.

Motorcycle is sold with clear title, as-is, where-is. I will hold it for the buyer up to 30 days. Located in Perkiomenville, PA 18074.
