Norton Commando description

Offered is a numbers matching, well sorted Norton Commando 850. this is a proper Norton that has been completely gone thru by a reputable Norton Shop.Nothing was left undone and no short cuts taken.Mechanically a 9.9. Tank and side panels have been professionaly finished, the letters and pinstripes have several coats of clear on them. Bike has been converted to a single Muniki carberator for easier tuning. Bike has tremendous compression and the new peashooter mufflers sound awesome this bike needs nothing mechanically, $6,000 was spent on getting everything mechanically correct. All of the original bits and pieces are in place. Just the right amount of patina not over polished. This is a great looking British classic motorcycle. It looks like a piece of artwork.  I will be selling a lifelong collection of Moto Guzzi's and Triumphs as well. Original wheels, all of the correct Lucas, Lucas lenses and switches.Comes with a new Corbin Gunfighter Seat and I have the original.A rare opportunity to own a proper Norton.Let me know if you have any questions.Riders handbook and manuals will come with the bike.Remember this is a 42 year old motorcycle.

I'm on a Goodwood Revival comedown

Tue, 22 Sep 2009

I'm on a massive comedown after a great weekend at Goodwood Revival. The Revival relives the glory days of the 50s and 60s and that's not just marketing hype, almost everyone is dressed in perios clothing, the cars are all from 1948 to 1966 and the effort that goes into setting Goodwood up is incredible, even the burger vans are retro Citroens, the staff are dressed in period clothing and about the only thing not retro was the price of a bacon sarnie; £6.50, ouch! I only planned to go down on Friday, but I had such a good time I headed back on Sunday too.

More than 2,000 attendees visited America’s Car Museum for its 3rd annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival ‘The MEET’ last weekend in Tacoma, Washington, where over 300 motorcycles and scooters were showcased on the Haub Family Field at LeMay. The event drew pre-1981 motorcycles and scooters from the U.S. and Canada, including an antique motorcycle display, swap meet, cruise-in and a 78-mile roundtrip tour from ACM’s Anderson Plaza to Mt. Rainier.
