1975 Norton on 2040-motos
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States
Norton All description
The bike is stock with the exception of the following reasonable upgrades such as Electronic Ignition ,A very cool Corbin Gunfighter seat, a much improved MAP single MIKUNI carburetor kit. There may be a few other non-stock items that I am not aware of. The blinker lights , twin concentric carburetors and twin intake manifolds are complimentary with the sale. The Electric starter was not on the motorcycle when I bought it. I did not feel it was necessary to replace the starter, because the bike starts on the first or second kick with the new MIKUNI carburetor. If you want to install an electric starter, a company in California , "FAIR SPARES" (805-534-9248) sells a better than original NORTON starter for $440.00 and it includes a heavy duty wiring kit. My Norton must have spent much of its life unused/not ridden because the odometer reads less than 6000 miles The previous owner said that the reading is accurate. This is a numbers matching motorcycle where the engine , frame and transmission numbers all match. It is legally registered and titled in the state of Florida in my name , with no liens. I have a complete parts catalog and workshop manual that is collated in a 3 ring binder with page protectors and is included with the sale. You will be more than satisfied,in fact, you will be awed by this bike!! It is a really fine machine!! Motorcycle is SOLD AS IS!! No warranty is expressed or implied. Any questions, Call Tom at 727-729-5493 in Florida. Should you wish more photos, they will be posted to you upon request. Shipping is the buyers responsibility! I will assist all that I can. I will transport the bike to www.ForwardAir in Tampa for shipping. All shipping Charges are the buyers responsibility!! A $500.00 deposit is required within 24 hours of sale end via PAYPAL. The rest by certified bank check, Cash in person. All funds will be cleared by my bank prior to bikes release. Thanks for your interest and GOOD LUCK!! |

Bonneville from a parallel universe
Fri, 20 Sep 2013This is the Triumph Speed Twin Concept, a bike commissioned by Triumph to show what the Bonneville might have evolved into, in a parallel universe. I love the concept. Designed by Roy Norton and Tom Kasher who were on a placement at a design studio, I get the impression the pair are into motorcycle and not just designers.
Moto Electra Equips Electric Norton Race Bike with iPad Console
Fri, 14 Sep 2012Moto Electra has found a new, innovative way to combine old and new technologies in its electric race bike. The Virginia-based Moto Electra has been an active participant in electric motorcycle racing for the last few years, competing against much larger, better funded teams with a race bike using an electric motor and 1950s Norton Featherbed frame. That melding of old and new has produced surprising results, including podium finishes in the TTXGP and victory in a race featuring both electric and gas-powered motorcycles.
I'm on a Goodwood Revival comedown
Tue, 22 Sep 2009I'm on a massive comedown after a great weekend at Goodwood Revival. The Revival relives the glory days of the 50s and 60s and that's not just marketing hype, almost everyone is dressed in perios clothing, the cars are all from 1948 to 1966 and the effort that goes into setting Goodwood up is incredible, even the burger vans are retro Citroens, the staff are dressed in period clothing and about the only thing not retro was the price of a bacon sarnie; £6.50, ouch! I only planned to go down on Friday, but I had such a good time I headed back on Sunday too.
