Up for auction is this barn-find 1975 Moto Guzzi 850 T3. In the words of Richard Backus from Motorcycle Classics: "The 850T had only been on the market a year before Moto Guzzi introduced what many consider its best motorcycle. Introduced in 1975, the improved 850 T3 (the “3” signifying the triple-disc brakes) was in many ways the most important Moto Guzzi made in the Seventies. Lighter than the touring-oriented California and far more sporting than the also new 949cc, 2-speed semi-automatic Convert, the 1975 Moto Guzzi 850 T3 was the bridge between the Moto Guzzi V7 Sport and Guzzi’s larger touring bikes." I gave it a bath, and here it is. I have not tried to get it to run. The engine turns over, is not frozen. The pictures should tell the story. It was parked running many years ago. Engine and frame numbers match. It is a 1975 model, although it's titled as a '76. It comes with a notarized, ready to transfer Ohio Title. Note the Lester wheels, which are unique and quite sought after. The gas tank is solid with light corrosion inside, very usable. The ignition switch is non-original, and there is no key, although I'm told it will be found. Also one of the spark plugs broke when trying to remove it, and the base is stuck in the head. In the right hands, this bike could once again live as an original 70's classic, or as a cool custom cafe bike. I can assist with shipping, and may be able to deliver in the Cleveland, OH area. 2012 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone, V7 Special and V7 Racer
Wed, 28 Mar 2012Moto Guzzi presented its 2012 V7 featuring three models and the Piaggio-owned brand’s new 750cc V-Twin engine. The three models were previously introduced at the 2011 EICMA show as the V7, two-toned V7 Special and the shiny V7 Racer. Moto Guzzi has since given the matte V7 version a new name: the V7 Stone.
Vespa 946 Production Model Confirmed for North America
Mon, 19 Mar 2012Piaggio confirmed it will be importing the production version of its Vespa 946 (a.k.a. the “Quarantasei“) to North America, representing the next generation of scooters from the iconic Italian brand. The 946 was presented alongside the Aprilia Caponord 1200 and Moto Guzzi California 1400 at Piaggio’s North American dealer meeting last week in Miami.
Moto Guzzi V7 Special, V7 Stone and V7 Racer Coming to US for 2013
Wed, 26 Sep 2012Piaggio announced it will bring its newly-updated V7 models to North America with sales to begin in mid-October. We’ve written about the Moto Guzzi V7 Stone, V7 Special and V7 Racer when they were first announced by Piaggio in March, and we already have a review of the V7 line up from our European correspondent Tor Sagen. As we predicted at the time the three 750cc models will be sold in North America as 2013 models.
