1978 Moto Guzzi SP 1000 Cafe Racer. Only 3,135 ORIGINAL miles from new. This Tonti frame Moto Guzzi was stored for over 30 years until a restoration was done in 2013 where just about everything was replaced with new parts or restored. Engine runs strong, no leaks, and is a joy to ride and show. This is a show quality Moto Guzzi that is also ridden. New carburetors, Turozzi controls/cables, Tommaselli rearsets, custom made LED cockpit/gauges, LeMans I fairing. All mechanical parts were replaced with NOS and other parts from Italy. Comes with 2 sets of silencers, Lafranconi. Show winning custom paint on gas tank, side covers and front fender. Has won multiple 1st place trophies. This motorcycle has never seen rain, and has been stored in my climate controlled garage for the last year. Shoei Helmet with matching paint included. I have all the documentation, clear title, in my name, hundreds of receipts, the Guzziology book, workshop manuals, boxes of spare parts etc....

Q3 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Results

Motorcycle and scooter sales in the U.S. in 2013 remain consistent with last year’s figures, according to data released by the Motorcycle Industry Council. Several manufacturers blamed poor weather for the poor start this year, and the rebounding sales in the third quarter helped to negate the slow sales from earlier in the year.

Classic Japanese Bikes Highlight Bonhams’ Next Auction

Bonhams’ annual fall auction, the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show, at Stafford County Showground is scheduled for October 20, 2013. Included in the auction is the above pictured 1974 Kawasaki H1-RW 500cc triple. Expected to sell for approximately $96,000 to $112,000, the Japanese works Grand Prix racer is one of only two machines built by the factory for the French Kawasaki importer SIDEMM for use in the 500cc World Championship. The bikes were ridden during the 1974 season by the French endurance racing specialist Christian Léon and French-Canadian Formula 750 star Yvon Duhamel.
