Moto Guzzi Ambassador description

Italian HOG barn find I bought a couple of years ago. I've replaced quite a few items. I left the rough patina as it reflects history. So it has some dings in the pipes, front fender, tank and surface rust. The new owner can finish her to original glory if they'd like. Guzzi's were the preferred bike in the early 70's for the CHP and LAPD.

It is a numbers matching bike. The bike always starts right up. It has the rare original LAPD metal saddlebags that were not offered as an option by Moto Guzzi. It has a combination of Honda tail/turn rear turn lights and Yankee Turnflex II signals in front.
Clean title with new California tags good until July 2017. It gets a lot of looks as there isn't anything else on the road that looks like it. Too many other projects I need to finish so this has to go.

Here's what I've done:
New tires/tubes front and back. Less than 100 miles put on them.
New rear brakes, rear wheel gasket and seal.
Speedometer cable
Voltage regulator
Points, wires and condenser, starter brushes, relays
Oversize battery- Mazda
Tank acid washed and POR15 coated inside
Carbs rebuilt, new petcocks , air filter and hoses
Aftermarket turn switch
Reupholstered seat. New locks on side boxes.
Generator belt

What it needs:
Clutch cable. Current cable works but treaded area is broken
Oil leak. What 45 year old bike doesn't.
Tach not working.

Charge Up you iPhone While You Ride

Fri, 12 Feb 2010

Motorcyclists can now enjoy total freedom on the open road confident in the knowledge that their cell phones, GPS, MP3 players and latest generation of iPhone/iTouch devices will remain fully-charged and in-service for the duration of the ride thanks to Powerlet’s plug and play systems. “Our product line was inspired by personal experience and the realization that there were no worthwhile options for clean, reliable on-board power for cell phones, stereos and GPS devices,” says Powerlet Products founder Adam Bonislawaski. “Before we came on to the scene, riders would bust out the black tape and wire strippers and cut into their bike’s fragile wiring to tie-in a cheap cigar lighter to power their devices.

Vintage Bike Stash Found in Ohio

Mon, 05 Mar 2012

Brim’s Imports is a vintage motorcycle shop disguised as a used car dealership, and chances are you’ve never heard of the place or its proprietor, Tom Brim. If you’re in the market for a rare vintage motorcycle, however, it may behoove you to give Tom or his brother, Ralph, an old fashion phone call. A website does exist, brimsimport.com, but its for searching the inventory of late model car and truck parts — the cash flow supporting Tom’s motorcycle obsession.

2012-2013 Moto Guzzi Griso, Norge, Stelvio NTX Recalled in Canada for Rear Suspension Problem

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

Transport Canada announced a recall for the 2012-2013 Moto Guzzi Griso 8V, Norge GT 8V and Stelvio 1200 NTX because of a problem with the rear suspension. The double connecting rod in the rear suspension linkage may not have been manufactured correctly and may fail. Failure could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
