Kawasaki Other description

Up for auction is a 1982 Kawasaki GPZ750 also known as the KZ750R1.  The bike has not been ridden in several years and is not currently in rideable condition.  Recently, I installed the carbs and airbox from a running 2000 ZR750.  The engine turns over and it ran at a very high idle when the carbs were installed a few months ago.  Since then I have done no work to the bike and now I must sell to consolidate my toys.  There will need to be minor modification done to the airbox to run this setup.  Also, the brakes will need to be gone through as there is no pressure in the system.

The overall condition of this bike is fair for its age.  The paint is decent, but does have some flaws, worst of which is a small dent in the top corner of the gas tank(see picture).  It has fairly new tires and the windscreen is almost new.  The electrical has been gone over and everything appears to work except the clutch safety switch was broken(wires are connected to bypass).  There is one small split seam(about 1.5") in the seat, but should be fixable before it gets out of hand.  The paint on the frame and engine is fading and scratched in places.

Many of the original parts(inner fender, reflectors, shocks, carbs(disassembled) etc.) are included with the bike.  Also, I have some extra parts(fender, fairing, side panels, etc.) that will be included in the sale.  An ELR replica decal set and a project seat with ELR seat cover are also included.

This is a project bike that would be great for restoration, or a decent rider with some work.  Buyer is responsible for pickup in person and I cannot offer services to help deliver.  A $200 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end.  Please feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding and I urge interested parties to schedule a viewing of the bike if they have the means.

Thanks

Recall for 2009-2010 Kawasaki KLX250

Tue, 05 Jul 2011

Kawasaki is recalling some 2009-2010 KLX250 models due to a risk of leaky fuel tanks. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the fuel tank on affected motorcycles may not be in contact with the frame-mounted rubber dampers designed to support the front of the tank, and the tank side mounting tabs may have excessive clearance from from the frame. As a result, spot-welded sections along the side tabs may be under excessive stress, potentially resulting in cracking and a fuel leak.

Kawasaki Z250 SL Launched In Asia

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

Kawasaki, today, launched the long-awaited streetfighter version of the Ninja 250 in Asia. Dubbed the Z250 SL (Super Lightweight), some may call it the baby Z1000. That nickname, while fitting, is already reserved for the standard Z250, which draws a middle ground in terms of riding position (and amount of plastic) between the Z250 SL and the supersport Ninja 250.  Designed for the sports-minded urban commuter, Kawasaki heralds this lighter, racier alternative to the Z250 as the perfect companion for someone looking for Ninja-based performance, quick, nimble handling, and aggressive ergonomics.

Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Fri, 16 May 2014

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.
