2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. Öhlins-Equipped Special Edition 2014 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R Announced

A few days ago, Kawasaki revealed several 2014 models including a new Ninja 1000 updated with ABS, traction control, multiple ride modes, monobloc calipers and optional luggage. Among the model announcements was the 2014 Ninja ZX-14R with three new color options: Golden Blazed Green and Metallic Spark Black, Candy Burnt Orange and Metallic Spark Black, and Flat Ebony and Ebony. But that’s not all Kawasaki had for its 1441cc behemoth.

Kawasaki Reports Q1 2011-2012 Results

Kawasaki reported a 8.7% decrease in motorcycle sales over its first quarter ended June 30, 2011. The motorcycle and engine division (which includes ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft and general purpose engines) generated sales of 59.8 billion yen (US$775.4 million) , a decrease from the 65.5 billion yen (US$848.9 million) reported from the same period last year. Overall, Kawasaki Heavy Industries reported a profit of 9.56 billion yen (US$123.8 million) over the quarter, compared to a profit of 5.88 billion yen (US$76.2 million) reported last year.
