Kawasaki H1 500 description

1973 Kawasaki H1 500. Very original condition. I bought this bike in Indiana a year ago with the intentions of doing a full restoration. The bike was a barn find that had sat for a few years, It was taken to a local Kawasaki dealership and started. It ran for a short period and seized- THIS BIKE DOES NOT CURRENTLY RUN. That is the history of the bike as I was told. This bike has not been modified to my knowledge. I have not touched this bike other than to unload it into my garage. I have decided to sell this classic for what I have invested in it and pursue a four wheeled project instead. I will describe it the best I can. Please inspect the photos for specific condition or send me any questions you may have.

The bike has the factory green two tone paint with pin striping. The tank is in great gondition, free from dents or rust. The interior of the tank appears clean and rust free. Both side covers are there with a few nicks. Tail section has a few small blemishes and the pinstripe is a bit faded. The seat upholstery has a few cracks as shown in the photos, but is still very presentable. A new replacement seat cover is included in the sale. Seat latch and lock are functional. The seat pan looks very good. Original replacement spark plug holder is present but the tool pouch and tools are missing. Handlebr controls and gauge cluster cover show some wear and have chipping. I have replacement switchgear that is included with the sale. They are not new, but in very good condition. Mirrors, fork ears & front fender look very good- there a a few areas with VERY light pitting, but nothing that couldn't be removed. The engine covers are fair. They show no damage, just years of wear. They may polish up with a lot of work. Pipes are clean but not perfect. They have a ding or scrape here or there, but nothing that shows from more than 5 feet away. Wheels are fair, tires hold air and have tread, but are dry and have cracking from all the years. Kickstart arm & gear shift lever have chipping and need rechromed. Bike has new parts- air cleaner assembly, rear shocks & seat cover.

Again, this is a very original & unmolested example of a classic 2 stroke from the golden age of 2 stroke smokers. It is a titled bike that needs motor work- THIS BIKE DOES NOT CURRENTLY RUN. These bike are gaining in value and is a good investment. Bid with confidence and bid to win.

Payment terms- $500 Paypal deposit is due within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The balance is due via cashiers check/certified funds within 7 days of the close of the auction. All funds must clear my banks before the bike will be released. Bike is also available for pickup in Forney Texas. I will be happy to work with your shipper, but I am unable to box or crate this bike in any way. Feel free to ask any questions or request specific photos. Thanks for looking!

Speed and Fuel TV to Broadcast Kawasaki’s Zero to Hero Challenge Starting This Week

Tue, 14 Aug 2012

Early this year, thousands of drag racers chased the dream and entered Kawasaki’s nationally-promoted “Zero to Hero Challenge,” hoping for the opportunity to face-off against multi-time champion Rickey Gadson and take home a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. Beginning this week, Speed and Fuel TV will broadcast the Zero to Hero Challenge across several time slots. Both cable networks will treat viewers to an inside look at the process all contestants went through on their way to challenging Gadson on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag strip in May.
