WSBK 2013: Assen Race Report

Tom Sykes earned his first win of the 2013 season and came a hair short of a double victory at the World Superbike Championship round at Assen in the Netherlands. Traditionally a fast starter and qualifier, Sykes started on the pole once again at Assen and had strong starts in both races. But unlike the first two rounds where he started strong before fading, the Kawasaki factory rider was able to remain at the front in both races at Assen and earn some valuable championship points.

Two-tone hugger for Kawasaki Versys

One of Pyramid Plastics' best sellers has been the rear hugger for the Kawasaki Versys, they have now enhanced upon the original product as it is now painted to match the various colours of the bike. The Hugger is manufactured from “High-Grade Reliability PlastiK” and matches the silver swingarm, while a painted style has been adopted for the top shell. Kawasaki-Supported Zytek ZX10ev TT Zero Electric Racer

British Superbike race team Bournemouth Kawasaki and electric powertrain maker Zytek Automotive will compete in the 2012 TT Zero on the Isle of Man with an electric ZX-10R with support from Kawasaki UK. The Zytek-Kawasaki ZX10ev uses the chassis of a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and an oil-cooled Zytek permanent magnet electric motor. Zytek is a race-proven electric powertrain supplier, though its expertise is primarily with cars.
