Features: Suspension travel and damping Up front, there's a 43mm upside down fork with 270mm of travel, while a revised PDS monoshock on the rear now provides even better traction and optimum surface contact. Both are made by renowned supplier WP Suspension. Of course, rebound and compression damping can be adjusted separately for a quick and precise set-up to match the track and rider. 2013 KTM 1190 Adventure R Revealed

When news broke yesterday of leaked details of the new 2013 KTM 1190 Adventure, the first question that crossed our minds was “when do we find out about the R version?” The answer, it turns out, is today, with a new photograph of the 1190 Adventure R now surfacing. Members of ADVForum, where we found the original leaked KTM brochure, have uncovered new a studio photo of the R model as well as the non-R version. The 2013 KTM 1190 Adventure R is equipped with larger wheels than the base model, likely a 21-inch wheel up front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear (the non-R 1190 Adventure appears to sport a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel.) We are surprised the tires appear to be street tires and not knobby off-road rubbers.

KTM E-Speed Electric Scooter Headed for Production

KTM announced it will bring its E-Speed electric scooter to production, with plans to introduce it to he European market in 2015. Originally unveiled last month at the 2013 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, the E-Speed made its European debut at this past weekend’s Bike Austria show where KTM officially announced the scooter will enter production. The E-Speed will follow the Freeride E as the second electric model offered by KTM.

It’s never easy to replace someone you’ve lost, but life invariably must go on. KTM recognizes this, announcing the signing of Jordi Viladoms to its Dakar Rally factory team to take the spot of Kurt Caselli who succumbed to injuries in a crash at the SCORE Baja 1000. “We are very aware that no one is able to replace Kurt, who was a special friend and teammate, but we believe that what we need now for the team is stability,” says Alex Doringer, manager of the Red Bull KTM Rally team.
