KTM Signs Ryan Dungey for 2012-2013 AMA Supercross and Motocross Seasons

KTM has signed Ryan Dungey to a two-year contract to race in the 2012-2013 AMA Supercross and Motocross seasons. The deal reunites Dungey with team manager and motocross icon Roger DeCoster. Dungey and DeCoster share a connection that goes back to 2006 when the former world champion recruited Dungey for the Suzuki factory racing team.

If you’ve never seen a sidecar race, you’d be amazed at how different it is from motorcycle racing. Not only do you have some entirely different physics at work with the third wheel, you also have a passenger sprawled over the chassis behind the rider, sticking his body out to either side at lean angles that would make Marc Marquez break a sweat. 2013 AMA Supercross St. Louis Race Report

Ryan Villopoto captured his series-leading fourth win of the season in a red-flagged main event before a record crowd of 60,178 at St. Louis’ Edwards Jones Dome, as the 2013 AMA Supercross season reaches its midway point. The race started with MotoConcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi taking the holeshot with Muscle Milk Honda‘s Justin Barcia and Yoshimura Suzuki‘s James Stewart on his tail.
