Indian Chief description

This beast was made in the Gilroy plant in california.  It has only 2550 miles. Powered by the Indian power plus 100 1600cc V twin. Made and installed custom baffle for power and sound that is loud but not obnoxious. (I have original baffle).  Carb is jetted for exhaust and you will see on your first ride that it's perfect. Cold start is effortless and idles perfect without throttle.  It has an alarm system. There is a nick on the front fender and at the bottom of the rear fender there is a paint defect but other than that cosmetically it is in excellent condition.  Ready to ride..

Collection Of Rare Indian Motorcycles Up For Auction, March 8

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

On March 8, four rare Indian motorcycles, some of which date back over a century, will be up for auction at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Now in its 16th year, the single-day sale includes a stunning roster of more than 80 investment-quality vehicles including a stellar group of early Indian motorcycles. The oldest of the collection is a 1909 Indian 5HP Light Twin. This model is significant as it marks Indian’s departure from using modified bicycle frames to incorporating loop frames, previously only seen on the company’s racing motorcycles. A new, streamlined torpedo-type gas tank was fitted between the upper and lower tank rails, and oil was carried in a large capacity half-gallon tank that was fixed to the frame beneath the seat.

Polaris Reports Q1 2014 Sales Results

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Polaris Industries reported a 52% increase in motorcycle revenues over the first quarter of 2014, thanks in large part to the addition of Indian Motorcycles. Motorcycle sales generated $78.9 million in sales revenue for Polaris, compared to $51.8 million in the same quarter last year. The key thing to remember however, is Indian Motorcycles wasn’t relaunched until late summer, so last year’s first quarter sales were made up almost entirely of Victory Motorcycles.

Vespa Arrives in India

Thu, 26 Apr 2012

Piaggio has launched its Vespa brand in India, introducing the iconic scooter to the world’s second-largest two-wheeler market. When we think of motorcycle in India, we tend to think of low-cost small displacement motorcycles and scooters. That’s beginning to change with the influx of larger displacement models commonly found in other markets.
