Husqvarna TE250 description

FOR SALE: 2011 Husqvarna TE250 street-legal dual-sport four-stroke dirt bike. Clean title and plated. Was an old Italian Husky's demo bike picked up by Gateway Husqvarna BMW in St Louis, MO, then purchased by me in February 2012. Was trail-ridden only a few times a year since then, and only once last year. And apart from a little riding around my former in-law's 10 acres and being used as my commuter while my street bike was in the shop, it has sat forlorn in my garage. So now that riding season has begun, it's time for it to find a new owner who can have a whole hell of a lot of fun playing with it.

This bike is from the era when then BMW-owned Husqvarna started producing kick-ass dirt bikes again. It has fuel injection and a radiator fan, innovative features back then. The battery and air filter are right under the seat, and no tool needed to access. It's completely stock with the only mods being the addition of Enduro Engineering bark busters, and a lithium battery that replaced the old lead acid one. The fuel pump has also been replaced. It's been power-upped, and has two ride modes. It has an e-starter as well as a kickstarter if you're so inclined.

And it's a very special and somewhat famous bike. It's from Husqvarna's 2011 demo fleet used in the Cycle World 40th anniversary On Any Sunday photo shoot with Malcolm Smith and Mert Lawwill. I have it on authority from someone at the old Italian Husky USA head office that it was indeed one of the bikes seen in the photos. The photo here shows Merl riding it, but Malcolm also had a turn on it. Those two legends must have sprinkled some of their pixie dust on this particular motorcycle for I fell off far less often than my intermediate skill level should dictate.

It will need new tires, but it does include the original non-DOT tires Malcolm and Mert rode on if you want them. It also comes with a roll chart and a tail bag. The muffler has a spark arrestor. It's really tall with a claimed 37.4" seat height, just right for us tall guys.

Oil changed ever 20 hours of riding, and the air filter was cleaned annually (like I said, I didn't ride much). It has almost 2200 miles on the odometer.

Cosmetic damage from the "few" times I collected soil samples, and all the turn signals stalks have tape on them. It runs great! It just needs a more experienced rider to wring out its full potential.
