Honda REFLEX description

Up for sale -- This VERY collectible 2007 Honda Reflex Sport Scooter originally owned (documented) by racing legend Dan Wheldon.  I purchased the Honda in 2013 from the Wheldon family after Dan's untimely death at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. When I purchased the bike, it was being stored in the garage of the Wheldon home and immediately after, it was placed in an indoor climate control storage until now.  When I purchased it, it had 297 miles on it that were personally driven by Dan Wheldon.  I have added 52 miles since then just to keep it running correctly.  I have used ethanol free gasoline only.  I had the bike completely serviced about 1.5 years ago and all fluids and any other recommended services were done at that time.  The bike is basically new and being kept inside.  The tires show no sign of dry rot at all.  If you are a Dan Wheldon fan with a motor home, this would be perfect for getting around at the races.  Or just store it and keep it as a keepsake.  I am getting rid of my indoor storage space so I am listing it for that reason.  Please feel free to call if you have any questions 813-244-1714 -- my name is Jeff and I live in Tampa, FL.

Old boys up front and where are the new 600 Gixers?

Mon, 28 Feb 2011

As I’ve been gagging for the new race season to kick off so it was almost a pleasure getting up at stupid 0 clock to watch the World Superbike Championship  opener at Phillip Island last weekend. I have to say Messrs Burnicle and Whitham were on form although I was disappointed there were none of the usual verbal attacks on each other that always add to the entertainment.    I’m sure they will put things right soon but the world superbike regulars must have been disheartened that Moto GP veterans nailed five of the six available rostrum slots.

The Honda Collection Halls in Motegi

Fri, 14 Oct 2011

I thought you may have to be from a certain era to enjoy the Honda Collection Halls in Motegi but I was wrong. This immaculate museum has hundreds of race and road bikes on display starting with the first ever (wooden) motorcycle built right up to the amazing machines Pedrosa and co are campaigning this year. Being part of the Honda owned Motegi Twin Ring circuit complex, I was expecting it to be a Honda only zone so was amazed to see lots of iconic bikes from other manufacturers also on display.

GSX-R600 and CBR250R the glass is half full

Wed, 13 Oct 2010

Suzuki’s GSX-R600 might not look that much different to the outgoing model but I suspect this bike could be very much a dark horse in 2011. I say this because two years ago I was definitely not building my hopes up en route to the K9 GSXR 1000 launch. The leaked pictures suggested the biggest change from the 2007 version would be some fresh graphics but I was so wrong.  As it turned out, I was greeted in Almeria with a brand new bike, built from the tarmac up and it proved to be more than a match in every department for the much hyped 2009 Yamaha R1.
