The Japanese oddity to naming teams
Wed, 28 Jul 2010Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. Japan Needs Your Help
Thu, 17 Mar 2011By now, we’ve all seen pictures and video of the devastation in Japan following the March 11 earthquake and the ensuing tsunamis. Japan, of course, has contributed much to motorcycling, with the Big Four of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, as well as tire manufacturer Bridgestone, helmet companies Arai and Shoei and many other motorcycle industry stalwarts all coming from the Land of the Rising Sun. Jon Bekefy and Greg Hatton, two motorcycle enthusiasts, industry employees and above all, humanitarians, have set up a fundraising campaign benefiting the Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.

Wed, 22 Aug 2012Honda's ASIMO, Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility robot is a pretty cool thing. Until I'd seen it in the flesh (plastic?) I thought it was just a willy-waving exercise from Honda, but when I saw it running and walking up and down stairs, I was massively impressed. So, perhaps, one day, we'll have the ability to buy a relative of ASIMO to help us around the house, I thought to myself.
