Report: Dorna to Replace Superstock Classes with More Stock-Inspired WSBK and New 250cc Class

The coming World Superbike racing season may be the last to feature Superstock classes as series promoter Dorna tries to differentiate its WSBK and MotoGP properties. According to Italian outlet Motosprint, Dorna plans to rewrite the World Superbike and Supersport class rulebooks for the 2014 season to make the race bikes closer to their respective production models. This would create further separation between WSBK and MotoGP, with Superbike racing moving closer to its production-based roots while prototypes racing in the GP series.

Tom Sykes and Loris Baz captured a pair of one-two finishes for Kawasaki at England’s Donington Park. The first race saw the reigning World Superbike champion fight his way up from 11th place for the win while Race 2 offered a three-way battle between the two Kawasaki riders and Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli. Isle of Man TT 2012: Sidecar TT 2 Results

Dave Molyneux and passenger Patrick Farrance won the second Sidecar TT race to sweep the sidecar class in the 2012 Isle of Man TT. The duo won the first Sidecar TT race earlier in the week where they led every lap but this time Molyneux and Farrance had to mount a comeback on the final lap for the win. The Tim Reeves and Dan Sayle led after the opening lap on an LCR Honda sidecar with a time of 20:16.09, averaging 111.692 mph.
