1981 Honda Gold Wing (1981)
This is a 1981 Honda Gold Wing GL-1100 Interstate with a clear PA title ready to be transferred. These bikes are 5 speed transmission and have a 4 stroke opposed 4 cylinder liquid cooled engine which are 2 belt driven, single overhead camshafts. Front brake have two rotors and the rear has 1 rotor for braking. These were rated at 13.18 seconds in the 1/4 mile @ 100.44 mph from a dead stop. Suggested retail was $5,298. Now about this bike it has not been ran in 2 years when the last owners kids started messing with the carbs. It was running before they messed with it and after just smoked when they were done messing with the carbs. Now it will not turn over needs a new battery, it is completely dead. I did get a small charge on it and the engine did turn over slowly not fast enough to start it. Speedo shows 86,223 miles. The lights came on and the horn all worked when I hooked charger up. I'm missing a couple seat bolts that hold the back of the seat on. This is not a show piece but no junk either please look at the pictures then read ad again. The front fairing is broken and cracked on the inside parts in to places that I can tell looks like it was laid over at very low speed or almost stopped on the right side. Caught the fairing and a chrome guard on the same side. The seat has a 2" rip at the crease not bad unsure if it can be fixed. The windshield is getting fogged and has tinny spider cracks. The exhaust chrome looks to be pretty nice other than the tail pieces they need cleaned or re-chromed. I have the key, clear PA title, original Honda air gauge, original owners manual, and the original mirror is on the inside top part of the rear bag. I also have the magazine featuring this model bike from 1981. So it is being sold as is NOT running unsure what it may need other than a new battery, fresh gas, and carbs cleaned and adjusted correctly. I'm no mechanic for sure. You are more than welcome to come look at it before you purchase. I will hold bike in my garage or up to 8 weeks in paid in full in 5 days. 1982 Honda Goldwing GL 1100 Aspencade (1982)
1982 Honda Goldwing Aspencade. Bought new by my Father-In-Law in 1982. Always stored. I purchased it from him last year in June before his death. I have done the following restorations to the bike and want to move on to another project even though this one is nearly fully completed. Just tired and want to move on to another one. New front and rear wheel bearings and seals, New brake pads, Rebuilt the front master cylinder, New battery this year with a new Battery Tender, New Bridgestone tires this spring with less than 250 miles on them, New exhaust system and synchronized carbs and re-jetted to accommodate new exhaust. Fresh set of plugs, Valves adjusted. New Timing Belts less than 8,000 miles ago done by my father-in-law at the Honda Shop. Shaft drive inspected and regreased with new fluid in the rear reservoir. New Progressive front fork springs and front forks sealed and new Progressive HD rear springs because the air suspension system did not work and to replace it was more than having the mechanic put on an all new suspension and it does ride very well. New hand grips and no tears or rips in the seat. The radio was removed and as were the speakers long ago because it quit working for my father-in-law. He remounted the charge gauge to the center of the interior of the fairing. The only scratch is on the right rear on the tour-pack and photo shows it. It has Markland Passenger Floorboards and I also have the Markland Wrap-Around Light Bar that goes around the saddlebags. The windshield is new this spring as are the speedometer cable and tachometer cable. The center-stand was removed to accommodate the new exhaust system. It has new hoses and a new thermostat and fresh anti-freeze, fresh oil change and an extra oil filter that will come with it. No leak or oil burning from the engine and no leaks from the coolant system. All new bulbs and a new headlight replaced with a Sylvania Hi/Low Beam SilverStar lamp. The lower fairing cowls were removed by me for the reason being the attachment points were all cracked, replacements are available on eBay but I kind of liked it without them because they were hiding a lot of chrome underneath them.2013-09-29 03:31:00Saint Elmo, Illinois, US57,7691,325.00 -
