Honda CT description

For sale is a 1969 Honda Dax 70 ST70 motorcycle. This is the model with the rare quick disconnect front end including the quick disconnect wiring harness, removable front end, and the center kick stand with blinker tabs. Check out the pics for the removable front end, only 30 seconds to separate it! 3 speed semi auto engine with a 3-2-n-1 shift pattern that runs and is original to the bike with the unique ST70 sticker engine number. I can supply the engine number and vin number to interested buyers via ebay messaging. Unique fender on the front, quick disconnect front end, and other unique and specific to the Dax only parts like footpegs, etc all add up to make this a unique and rare bike. Comes with one key and a bill of sale only, no title as it was not available to me when I bought it from the original owner. The bike just got a new clutch set I installed but needs some fine tuning at the moment, the bike runs and shifts. Speedo is in KPH, also important for the mileage which is listed above.

Here is a link to the bike idling with the new carb and baffle out:

The bad:
Carb needs some fine tuning as it bogs out with too much throttle.
No blinkers or horn switch, but the blinkers are still available online and so is the switch.
Fading paint, I call it Patina ;)
The bike is not in showroom condition!
Exhaust has a crack where the heat shield clamp used to be, very weldable still.
There are small things here and there that need to be fixed, cleaned up, repaired, or replaced. More details can be had my messaging me

This is a NO RESERVE Auction, bike will sell! If you dont want to wait for the auction to end send me an offer and if it works for both of us I will add a Buy it Now option to the listing so you dont have to wait for it to end. Please do not assume, please ask! I would be more than happy to talk with interested buyers in depth about the bike! Buyer must arrange all shipping and transportation costs, I will help and am somewhat flexible with my schedule but please contact me and talk with me about what you are considering for shipping and whether I will be able to help or not and in what capacity. Uship.com has been an affordable solution from what I have seen and been quoted before but buyer is responsible for all research and payment for shipping! I can hold the bike for up to 4 weeks after full payment has been made to give you time to arrange shipping and transportation and as long as there is clear communication with me. There is no title, ebay does not give me to option to select bill of sale in the drop down and I have to select a title, so no title bill of sale only!

Please read the payment section! There is a 200 dollar non refundable deposit to be made via paypal within 48 hours or the transaction will be cancelled and a report for non paying bidder will be made to ebay. Cash in person, or certified / cashier check / money order are the preferred methods of payment and they have to clear before I release the bike, less the deposit. If you want to pay with paypal for everything then you will have to cover the paypal fees on anything above the 200 deposit (this is why I prefer the above payment methods so buyer and seller dont have a big fee to pay)

The future. But we can't have it

Thu, 10 Nov 2011

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.

EICMA 2011: Honda NC700X Unveiled

Tue, 08 Nov 2011

Alongside the Honda NC700S at EICMA comes the NC700X, a “crossover” model with better off-road capability. Like the NC700S, the 2012 Honda NC700X is powered by Honda’s new 670cc parallel Twin engine. Honda designed the engine to be highly efficient, with optimal performance at speeds up to 87 mph and the engine revving up to 6000 rpm, a range Honda’s research found accounts for 90% of an average commuter’s uses.

2010-2011 Honda Shadow VT750 Recall

Mon, 13 Jun 2011

Honda has initiated a recall campaign for certain 2010-2011 Shadow series cruisers due to a problem with their bank angle sensors. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the bank angle sensors may incorrectly read that the motorcycle is leaning. The bank sensor uses a weighted pendulum that swings into a motorcycle’s lean.
