The 'slipper' motorcycle clutch ('slip and assist') is a unique Harley clutch that provides smooth, high-power handling in turns or whenever you downshift. By reducing clutch friction, the V-Rod Muscle slipper clutch helps keep your rear wheel at a controlled clip. The Harley slipper clutch also comes on the V-Rod Night Rod Special Harley-Davidson power motorbike. In addition to the slipper clutch, the V-Rod Muscle features satin chrome, dual side exhaust with turnout mufflers. Jetting out past the rear axle, these dominating motorcycle pipes add to the fierce, beefy look of the bike. Fri, 04 Oct 2013On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.
46,061 Motorcycles Stolen in US in 2012
Mon, 25 Nov 2013An average of 126 motorcycles were stolen in the U.S. every day in 2012, according to a report released by the the National Insurance Crime Bureau. That’s from a total of 46,061 motorcycles reported stolen that year a 1.3% improvement from the 46,667 motorcycles reported stolen in 2011.
