The 2013 Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight model XL1200X is one of the garage custom motorcycles in the Harley Dark Custom line. This bike cruises down the road with a 1,200 cc Evolution engine – an engine with a true Harley-Davidson soul. New for 2013, the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight model comes with optional Hard Candy Custom paint, a large metal flake paint finish that recalls the iconic styling of 1970s custom bikes, and offers blazing color showing through a deep, rich finish. The Forty-Eight model also has an authentic peanut tank which first appeared on Harley-Davidson back in 1948 (its name origin) and has been a defining Sportster feature ever since. The front end of the bike looks beefy with its fat MT90 tire. The Harley Sportster Forty-Eight model look is enhanced with the lowered front and rear suspension. 2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout Recalled for Faulty Fuel Indicators
Thu, 17 Apr 2014Harley-Davidson is recalling 2013-2014 Breakout models, including CVO versions, because the fuel level indication system may not be properly reading the correct amounts of fuel. As of this publishing, recalls have been announced by government agencies in Australia and Canada; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet posted a recall but U.S.-based members of the Harley-DavidsonForums.com report American dealerships have already started receiving recall bulletins. According to a recall announcement by Transport Canada, some Breakout and CVO Breakout models may run out of fuel despite the fuel and range indicators indicating there is still enough fuel in the tank.
Harley’s Ed Krawiec is 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champ
Mon, 14 Nov 2011Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec is the 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion. Krawiec clinched the title with a second-round win at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway that eliminated Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana Jr., the only rider in the field with a chance to overtake Krawiec for the championship. Krawiec advanced to the final round and lost to his Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines teammate Andrew Hines, who finished the season third in points.
