Harley-Davidson Sportster description

2008 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom, THIS SPORTY HAS IT ALL A MUST SEE!!!!!!!!!! - WRAP YOUR FISTS AROUND THE DRAG-STYLE HANDLEBAR AND HANG ON TO A MOTORCYCLE THAT DOESN’T KNOW THE MEANING OF ENOUGH. For 2008 you have the option of the full, serialized Anniversary treatment shown here. But even before the 105th came along, the 1200 Custom had earned its place in history. The most powerful engine in the Sportster line gets the full chrome treatment here, along with a vibration isolation system. You ride with forward controls. There’s a sleek 4.5-gallon fuel tank. Chrome bullet headlamp and handlebar riser. So much custom, you’ll want to share. So a two-up seat comes standard.

Want to Buy the Pope’s Harley?

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Given to the Pope last year as part of the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration, the bike was unlikely to become the Popecycle because of the security required to protect the pontiff. The Pope donated the Dyna to the Roman Catholic charity Caritas Roma but not before signing the tank with “Francesco” at a special ceremony at the Vatican last November.

The Harley-Davidson Museum has pulled the covers off discarded prototypes of a leaning three-wheeled motorcycle developed by The Motor Company. Harley-Davidson commissioned automobile hot rodding legend John Buttera to build the original prototype (pictured above) in 1998. Codenamed the “Penster”, the Trike looks like it could have been an earlier version of the Can-Am Spyder, but it had a tilting front end similar to the Piaggio MP3.
