Harley-Davidson Sportster description

One of a kind custom Ironhead Sportster hot rod styled bobber.

Everything on this bike is new, top quality parts. Probably over $10,000 to build, won first in a couple of shows.

The good stuff:
- Frame ground, gussetted and powder coated
- all chrome fasteners
- new wiring
- Engine rebuilt by "Fast Harry" at Central Coast Custom with Andrews "R" cams and S&S 1,200 stroker kit
- Split, chromed rocker covers (looks like a knucklehead)
- Joe Hunt Magneto
- US-made high torque starter
- New clutch pack, tranny rebuilt, new nickel-plated o-ring chain
- New generator and regulator
- side covers chromed
- Hand engraved brass and copper accents with "Momento Mori" theme on downtubes, exhaust and side cover
- HPC-coated exhaust, thermal wrap, custom brass exhaust tips
- Custom machined brass pegs
- Custom handlebars, chromed
- ISR controls
- Internal throttle
- New S&S carb and intake
- Hand made tank and fender, hand pinstriped and engine-turned silver leaf under clear coat
- Fork lowers shaved and chromed
- dropped springs and new hard-chromed short fork legs to lower about 2", new seals
- New wheels, powdercoated red, stainless spokes, new Avon tires
- GMA brakes and rear master cyl, double disks in front
- Chrome headlight, LED taillight with Grill by Crime Scene Choppers, matching finned oil filter, finned oil tank and fined air cleaner
- Hand made finned chrome battery box
- Hand tooled black leather seat with read baseball stiching
- Struts for clean hardtail look
- Zero miles on rebuild

Clean title

The bad stuff:
- Not running. I had a local mechanic install the high torque starter, he didn't have it aligned properly and tried to draw it into alignment and ended up breaking the mounting tab off the left side case. The fix is either to have a new tab welded to the case, or replace the left side case.
- Tags are expired, there are probably $150 in back license fees due

Local pick up near Scotts Valley, CA only. I don't want to deal with shipping this.

Shelved Harley-Davidson Penster Tilting Trike Prototypes Revealed

Thu, 04 Aug 2011

The Harley-Davidson Museum has pulled the covers off discarded prototypes of a leaning three-wheeled motorcycle developed by The Motor Company. Harley-Davidson commissioned automobile hot rodding legend John Buttera to build the original prototype (pictured above) in 1998. Codenamed the “Penster”, the Trike looks like it could have been an earlier version of the Can-Am Spyder, but it had a tilting front end similar to the Piaggio MP3.
