This bike is in great condition with extensive restoration work over the last 7 years. (copies of the repairs done available at time of purchase). It has a new custom paint job, blue with white/light blue ghost flames, tires, electrical, brakes, and carburetor. Runs great and has the original transmission.
Features: Original 1972 FLH Electraglide that includes a parts repair list, all original and replaced parts (see above), schematics, wiring diagram, 1970 Harley Owner Manual, and a CD with pictures (including repair process). Among the original parts included; both saddle bags, original seat, and shield. History: The bike was my fathers. It became deconditioned from >10 years garage storage. I've spent the last 7 years restoring the motorcycle and enjoyed riding it the last 5 years. Mechanical and electrical repairs were done by a certified garage. The 67-year-old hotel company presented hundreds of thousands of attendees with its “Motorcycle-Friendly Hotel” program as part of a four-day celebration at the famous Port of Ostia. Riders in the US, Canada and Mexico already know Best Western is the hotel of choice for real moto-travelers.
Jury Dismisses Suit Against Harley-Davidson Over ABS Indicator
Tue, 20 Dec 2011A Sacramento Superior Court jury has dismissed a lawsuit filed against Harley-Davidson involving a 2009 accident that left one of the plaintiffs with severe brain injuries. Judy Wilson was injured in an April 11, 2009, crash after her husband, Jack, locked the rear wheel of his non-ABS equipped 2008 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. The plaintiffs contended they believed their was equipped with ABS because the instrument panel had an ABS indicator icon and from the salesperson’s sales pitch.
Vespa goes back to the future
Thu, 22 Nov 2012IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while. I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
