1942 Harley Davidson WLA in Civilian Dress. Alot of Original parts on this bike. 45ci wla motor with aluminum heads and 3 spd transmission. Linkert m51 carb. Starts right up. Original Fenders and Tanks. Rear fender was cut and repaired by the battery box...look at pictures. Original frame and front end, wheels crash bar. Original footboards with the rivited rubber matts. Original center stand. Dash base is original but dash cover is repo. Other known repo parts are speedo, horn, headlight and taillight. The bike has been sitting for a couple years, i took it out the other day charged the battery and it started right up. It is missing the battery cover, chain guard and there is no tool box. the speedo does not appear to be hooked up either. This is a very nice bike and has the certain patina that you do not see too often anymore. REAL patina...not the fabricated kind. I do not have a title for this motorcycle, and I cannot get one due to the title laws in the State of Maine. I will provide a Registration and a Bill of Sale. Harley-Davidson Reveals “Twin-Cooled” Engine with Precision Liquid Cooling
Mon, 19 Aug 2013As we gleaned from recently revealed CARB documents, Harley-Davidson has introduced two new liquid cooled engines. The new engines use a combination of air-cooling and precision liquid cooling, similar to what BMW did with its 2013 R1200GS. One version of the engine, dubbed the Twin-Cooled High Output Twin Cam 103 will be used on the 2014 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited and the Tri-Glide Ultra trike while the CVO Limited will use a 110ci engine known as the Screamin’ Eagle Twin-Cooled Twin Cam 110.
Harley-Davidson Racers Visiting Troops In Middle East
Tue, 19 Nov 2013A large number of military personnel are also motorcyclists, with many dreaming of the day they can hop back on their steeds after deployment. Harley-Davidson understands this, and in cooperation with Army Special Forces Association Chapter 64, Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines riders Eddie Krawiec and Andrew Hines are joining Summit Racing Equipment and Armed Forces Entertainment November 18-22 for Operation Appreciation, an annual visit to American troops stationed overseas. After three years of visiting American military personnel based in Europe, Operation Appreciation will travel to the Middle East to visit troops in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
US Highland Making a Comeback
Thu, 13 Oct 2011US Highland appears to be making a comeback, announcing plans to begin processing new orders and having discussions with several OEMs for the use of the Oklahoma company’s powertrains. The Tulsa-based company did not mention which OEMs it is working with, though US Highland says the discussions could result in sales of over 20,000 units per year. The company is developing fuel injected V-Twin engines in 750cc, 950cc and 1050cc displacements and Singles in 350cc, 450cc and 507cc displacements.
