Harley-Davidson M50 description

Up for auction is this very rare Harley Davidson M-50 in very good shape for its age. this bike has 1,250 original miles minimal rust and is only missing the rear tail light cover. it starts first kick almost every time and is surprisingly  pretty quick. it has new fuel lines and new fuel filter. the inside of the tank is a little rusty could be cleaned. the speedo cable should be replaced, and the lights are not getting power but should be a simple fix.

if i don't receive enough interest i will be restoring it and selling for full retail... they have sold restored for $22,000 usd in auction.

The 1965 Harley-Davidson catalog described this M50 Sport Cycle as "not a toy but a lot more fun" and aimed sales at younger riders by suggesting it as "a way to come and go as you please without asking for the family wheels." Manufactured in Italy by Aermacchi, the M50 was H-D's $225 response to the wave of inexpensive scooters and small motorcycles coming in from Japan. Only marketed for two years (1965 and 1966), this example has been completely restored to showroom condition and rides on Goodyear 2.50-17 4-ply tires. The 50-cc 2-stroke single cylinder engine delivers over 100 mpg while its twin mechanical drum brakes

THIS BIKE IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN BC, CANADA AND COES WITH ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TI LICENSE ON THE ROAD.

Harley’s Behind the Scenes at The Art of Rebellion

Wed, 06 May 2009

On February 7th, 2009, at the Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station Arts Center, Harley-Davidson gathered 11 of today’s most relevant and exciting artists to present their take on the theme of rebellion. Because the event was so popular, The Art of Rebellion one-night only event quickly became a month long showing. Artwork was for sale and the proceeds were donated to Art Matters, a foundation that assists socially and aesthetically groundbreaking artists.

35 years ago this month

IT'S 35 YEARS since Evel Knievel attempted to jump 13 London buses at Wembley Stadium. Riding a heavy, slow Harley-Davidson XR750, the American daredevil had serious reservations about the jump, admitting the take-off ramp was too short, therefore limiting the bike's speed. But even though the plucky American knew his chances of pulling off the stunt were slim, he was reluctant to disappoint the 80,000-strong Wembley crowd.
