2015 Harley Davidson Chopper

A Pro street Frameworks 200 rigid frame is the basis of this machine. It has what looks like a 34 degree rake in the neck and a couple extra inches of stretch in the backbone and down tubes. A chrome plates billet fork assembly on it gives a little bit of a suspension for the front end, and besides the tan colored custom seat, the only thing smoothing the ride in the rear will be the 200 Avon Venom tire with lowered air pressure. The wheels are polished billet with a swept pattern to them and they're complimented with a matching rotors on the front and the rear as well as the same style 70 tooth drive sprocket. The front caliper is a two piston polished billet item that may be a GMA product but this is not conclusive and the rear is the same caliber and style. They're plumbed with component built sterling Chromite brake lines, and the oil lines and control cables are similar quality product. Sitting up on the top of a set of billet risers is a set of drag bars which are home to a koso speedometer and Excel components hydraulic handlebar controls that are made with a diamond shaped mirror and smooth chromes billet grips. An amber from the turn signal bar from pro one is neatly tucked under the lower triple tree. The rear turn signals are bolted to the axle covers on either side of the rear end with the side mount LED brake light on the left side. the sheet metal is very west coast chopper with the form fitted Hard body fender on the rear supported by custom made bosses welded to the frame and the horse power comes from an 88 cubic inch Harley Davidson twin cam crate motor with a dyna single fire ignition system fired by a pair of dyna coils and bolted up to the intake is a chrome capped CV carburetor with an xr-2 forward facing air cleaner from force products. The exhaust is a pair of short staggered piped from hooker headers and no doubt barks out a hefty rumble. A Jims machine 5 speed left side drive transmission sits between the 3 inch open belt primary and the belt final drive. A custom made belt guard by Mark Lynn fabricating add some safety and a very cool look to the system.

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.

2012-2013 Harley-Davidson VRSCDX Night Rod Special Recalled for Loose License Plate Bracket

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

Harley-Davidson is issuing a recall on all Night Rod Special models from 2012 and some from 2013 because of a potentially loose license plate bracket. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the mounting screws connecting the VRSDCDX‘s license plate bracket to the tail may loosen, potentially causing the plate to rub against the rear tire. This may cause the plate bracket to rotate as well as damage rear brake lines.
