Rossi to Ducati: The affair begins
Mon, 22 Nov 2010WE'VE STUMBLED across a series of videos posted on YouTube which follow the behind-the-scenes action of Valentino Rossi taking his first spin aboard Ducati's 2011 MotoGP racer. Filmed by an insider and posted on 'Tube by those lovely chaps at 'Assphalt and Rubber', the series of six videos follows the nine-time World Champion, as he's introduced to the 2011 machine for the first time. Rossi ended the two-day session at Valencia in 15th place on the timesheets.
2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 Spied
Mon, 08 Aug 2011A photograph has emerged of what is reported to be a new, smaller version of the Ducati Streetfighter featuring the company’s 848 engine. The photograph, posted by a user on the Ducati.ms forum, was reportedly snapped outside Ducati’s factory in Bologna. The banana yellow motorcycle sports a five-bolt hub on the rear wheel, similar to the Ducati 848EVO, whereas the current 1098cc Streetfighter has a six-bolt rear hub (pictured below from our 2009 Ducati Streetfighter review).
Carlos Checa Announces Retirement
Mon, 21 Oct 2013After 20 years of world-level racing and a world championship in World Superbike in 2011, Carlos Checa has officially decided to retire from the sport. Checa, who turned 41 just a few days ago, made his debut on the world scene back in 1993, when he took part in the GP 250 championship. In the twenty years that followed, he went on to compete in the 500cc, MotoGP and Superbike championships.
