French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. After some strong results at Snetterton and Misano, a first win for the man from Liverpool seemed inevitable, and this weekend at the Ducati Manchester sponsored Oulton Park round he walked away with a maximum points haul. Robbie Brown (Ducati Manchester) could only manage a third and a second despite feeling good about his chances for a victory, but he won’t be getting too worried yet as he extended his lead over closest rival Darren Fry (Hirebase Ducati Coventry) to 62.5 points.

Rossi Reveals Ducati Desmosedici GP12

Valentino Rossi has released the first photograph of the factory Ducati Desmosedici GP12 ahead of the MotoGP pre-season test at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit. The Doctor and Ducati teammate Nicky Hayden will test the GP12 alongside the other MotoGP teams and their race bikes this week to prepare for the upcoming 2012 season. The GP12 is said to be made of 90% new components, including an aluminum frame, a conventional design for most MotoGP teams but new for Ducati coming off of the ultimately unsuccessful carbon monocoque design.
