BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
An "experienced" GSPD - well maintained by seasoned BMW owner. Bike has been used mostly on paved roads but I kept dual purpose tires on it for that chance encounter with a tempting service road . . . Actual mileage is unknown as speedo was replaced by previous owner. That being said, the bike is in great overall condition and runs like you would expect of a 24 year old bike. Great power, shifts excellent, brakes are good, tires are 60-70% new.
Nice upgrades include:
Piaa driving lights
Air horn
Corbin seat
Original solo seat and sub frame (not pictured)
Jesse aluminum cases and mounts (locking)
Krausar aluminum top box (locking)
Wired for 12v power at gauges (for phone, GPS, heated gear, etc)
The bike has been tuned and the oil changed after recent Pacific Coast Highway trip of 1,350 flawless miles. It is ready for your next adventure and sticker to prove you were there. It has the original tool kit and storage box. Locking gas cap and glove box built into tank. You may ask: Is the shine on the tank a glare? No, the paint is fading, or as we call it "Patina". Does it leak any oil? The few drops here and there are just the PD marking it's territory. Does it burn any oil? About half a quart between oil changes. These bikes are getting scarce and there seems to be a resurgence of interest in the old Paris Dakar airheads due to the bullet proof design and ease of wrenching on them. I am ready to move up to something newer with ABS brakes - this would be a great start into adventure touring or a collector wanting that great patina that only comes with use. Please remember that this is a used bike and is sold "as is" without warranty or guarantee of any kind. Contact me for an appointment to see it. Pay Pal may be used for the entire purchase amount if buyer agrees to cover the PP fees. Ask any questions and thanks for looking!
For anyone wanting the bike shipped: I will assist in getting the bike to a local shipper (Los Angeles area) for $50 to cover gas and time. $500 deposit required - balance must be made in cash or by bank transfer (or Pay Pal as described above). I have sold motorcycles to Australia and Europe - it takes time and paperwork but I am familiar with the process if you work with a freight forwarder or dedicated shipper.
The bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
