BMW R-Series description
Selling a beautiful, restored and updated BMW 1984 R65 LS. Stored carefully for years, until we took it in and had the following parts replaced by a certified (vintage) BMW mechanic. The owner was extremely meticulous about care and storage and the bike is in beautiful condition.
New brake fluid Brake lines Slave cylinder Master cylinder Battery Tires New oil filter Fuel filter The itemized service receipt can be provided. Included with the bike are the original manual and accompanying booklets, touch-up pens, and four keys. This is very much a collector bike, as the LS was a limited run of the R65 with a slightly different design. Please note- there is an added windshield, an added back storage rack, one of the small silver side panels has come loose, and the foot shifter is missing its rubber grip. All lights work, the emergency light switch itself does not, and should be rewired. The sales data represents numbers from the MIC’s member brands which include BMW, Can-Am, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, the Piaggio Group (which includes Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa), Victory, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.

We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.
