1961 BMW R60/2 - Excellent Condition. 28,900 original miles. Matching numbers! Engine rebuilt at 28,060. NEW:Bearings and seals, rings, tappet covers, wiring harness, ignition, handle bars, single seat, (original dual seat included) powder coated frame, paint and pin striping, tapered bearings on triple tree, Works spring shocks, emblems, fork lock, 200 watt Omega 12V charging system and complete exhaust system. Carbs cleaned and tuned with new internal parts. History documents are included. Near mint condition and truly a gorgeous bike. Full service, all oils replaced. Original Manual, Tool Kit, and Tire Pump. This bike is like NEW!!! Offered at $13,500 This is a great opportunity to own a unique vintage classic. The previous owner painted this bike a Riviera Blue, which was an optional color on some later models. This was the reason I was attracted to this bike. The unique color is drop dead gorgeous. 2014 WSBK – Laguna Seca Results
Mon, 14 Jul 2014Marco Melandri rebounded from last week’s disappointing Portimao round to win Race One at Laguna Seca while Tom Sykes extended his championship lead with a win in a red-flagged Race Two. Melandri got taken out of the second Portimao race after his Aprilia teammate Sylvain Guintoli slid into his RSV4. Melandri looked eager to make up for that DNF, leading every lap of Race One on his way to his third win of the season.
BMW Reportedly Developing 450cc Racebike
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Italian website Motociclismo.it reports BMW is working on a new 450cc racebike to be used in youth racing series at select rounds other World Superbike Championship and the British Superbike Championship. According to the report, the new track-only sportbike will use a 450cc single-cylinder engine, likely the Husqvarna-developed version of the engine used in the BMW G450X. The engine will be mounted in an all-new chassis with racing suspension, wheels and carbon fiber fairing.

Tue, 29 May 2012Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points.
