BMW R-Series description

Up for sale is our 1960 BMW r69s this is your chance to own a rare one of a kind collectors item. No they did not originally come in this color. We painted it sea foam green to stand out and be eye catching. The frame is a 1960 r69s with sidecar mounts (vin number 655087) it has been professionally powdered coated black.  It has an r50 motor (vin number 637222) So no the frame and motor numbers do not match. The point of this build for us was to show the world what our small shop is capable of. We have used it for a promotional piece for a year and a half now and its time to let it go to a new home. Please do your research before bidding. This is not Electric start, it is kick start only.

This bike runs very well and shifts well through all the gears. No noise comes from the motor and is very smooth sounding and feeling. It goes down the road nice. This bike is not for beginner riders, it is not for everyday use. It is an old machine and needs to be babied. It is good for going to shows and riding around town slowly. With the earls fork and the outdated front suspension the new owner needs to be aware of its limits. This bike is not for everyone. Please do your research before bidding, for this bike is non-refundable.

We have done a very large amount of work to this bike. But the MOTOR HAS NOT BEEN REBUILT, it is untouched with unknown miles on it, and oil slingers have not been done to our knowledge. It runs well, does not smoke more than you would expect out of a bike of this age. The cylinders are a bit rusty on the cast iron, and the push rod tubes chrome is peeling off a bit. We decided to stick with the simple 6v electrical system, but added a 6v H4 headlight.

The buyer has to deal with shipping. You the buyer needs to schedule with the shipping company and pay yourself for your own shipping. We will meet the shipping company at the shop for pick up the day it is scheduled.

There is currently NO title for this bike, but it is registered in the State of Vermont and will also come with a Vermont Bill of Sale.

The reason for it being non-refundable is we are being honest with our listing but have dealt with dishonest people in the past. When issues pop up with this bike they are repairable by a professional, and problems will pop up on a bike like this of this year. These bike are metal on metal and wear out, they need routine maintenance and sometimes things break and need repairing, but parts for this bike still can be found. If you do bid on this bike and win the auction you must pay promptly. We also want prompt pick up.

The spec list of what we did to this bike:

WSBK 2013: Phillip Island Race Report

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Max Biaggi who? The Roman Emperor’s retirement after winning the 2012 World Superbike Championship marked the end of an era for Aprilia, with the 2013 campaign marking the first without Biaggi since the Italian manufacturer came back to the WSBK scene with the RSV4. If Aprilia misses its two-time WSBK Champion, it sure didn’t show it with a dominating display at the 2013 season opener in Australia.
