BMW Other description

Selling my 2006 BMW F650GS Dakar. 6000 or best offer, 37K miles. All set up for your next adventure ride: has luggage rack with Caribou hard panniers, crash bars, metal reinforced handguards, Touratech low mud fenders and chain guard, new battery, and fresh registration/state inspection. Great bike for trails, adventure touring, or even just commuting. Has ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (can be turned off), electrical outlet, four gallon locking fuel tank, center stand, warmed handlebar grips, 21 in front and 17 in rear. The Dakar edition features an extra 3ins of suspension travel for tackling offroad rides. Very reliable, easy maintenance schedule. These engines are bulletproof and very efficient. I am only selling mine because I bought another BMW! If you want the bike shipped that is fine, but you will need to arrange that. I have a pretty crazy work schedule and can't set that up for you. Please make sure you have a way to pick up or ship the bike before bidding. Thanks for looking!

BMW’s venerable R1200GS has a lot of fans around the globe, including us. To my eyes, the GS does a fine job of maintaining a traditional dirtbike’s minimalist appearance, minus those bulging cylinders protruding from either end. But now more than ever, thanks to the introduction of liquid-cooling, the GS is a modern marvel of mechanical and electrical engineering.

Around the world on a Multistrada

Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
